SB 9 (Lot Splits & Duplexes)
SB 9
In January 2022 SB 9, the California Housing Opportunity and More Efficiency (HOME) Act, went into effect. This law opened the floodgates for homeowners to build greater density housing in their backyards, including the ability to make their home a legal duplex and/or split their lot into two parcels.
