LA County Household Relief Grant

“The LA County Household Relief Grant provides immediate financial assistance to Los Angeles County residents who have been directly impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles County Eaton and Palisades fire and windstorm events. This Program bridges financial gaps and promotes the general welfare of affected households until insurance or government recovery resources become available.” – LA County

The application period for this Grant is from February 26, 2025 and it closes 2 weeks later on March 12, 2025. This grant is intended for Homeowners or Tenant that were severely affected by being physically displaced by the Eaton and Palisades fire and windstorm events.

“…the use of Recreational Vehicles, Tiny Homes, Modular Structures, and Mobile Homes on the site during rebuilding to house displaced resident(s) shall be permitted for up to three years, or while an active building permit is applicable to said property, whichever is longer…”

California Governor Newsom issues:

Executive order N-9-25 fast-tracks temporary housing for Los Angeles firestorm area

in addition to supporting the temporary use of Recreational Vehicles, Tiny Homes, and Modular Structures on impacted properties the State of California is

“…prohibiting issuance of a certificate of occupancy for an accessory dwelling unit before the certificate of occupancy for the primary dwelling, is suspended for projects to construct an accessory dwelling unit on any residential property substantially damaged or destroyed as a result of this emergency.”

Meaning ADU’s may now be installed and lived in BEFORE the primary home is rebuit or rehabilitated.
